Phishing is when random emails are sent to individuals or businesses pretending to be from a genuine company or bank.  This is normally done in a attempt to try and get customers to disclose their personal account information. When following the link on the mail it’s generally pointed to a bogus website which customers believe is a real site however all data entered is captured instantly by the criminals.  This can then be used for fraudulent purposes.  Commonly these emails claim that there is a need to update personal information held by the business.  To avoid being subjected to this kind of crime you need to be weary of the site where this email has come from even if it looks legit.
